This year's EXPO in Astana, Kazakhstan, just had its opening beginning of this month.

One of the most iconic buildings on the site is certainly the main pavilion "Nur Alem".

Evolute's contribution to the EXPO 2017 Astana

In cooporation with our client AluTerra Kazakhstan Ltd, we would like to proudly present to you the result of this project, which can be admired at the current Astana EXPO in Kazakhstan.

The Evolute paneling solution in Rhino was used to rationalize the freeform façade using mostly cylindrical panels.

A few double curved panels were automatically placed by the optimization where the use of cylindrical panels would have seriously impacted the visual quality.

The resulting panelisation meets the required construction tolerances and ensures a high facade quality with a predominant use of cost effective cylindrical hot bent tempered glass panels.

Evolute Services

We provided glass production drawings, reference geometry for the steel construction of the facades, and production data for sheet metal parts in this Astana EXPO project.

The complete rationalization and planning process was carried out using the Evolute paneling solution in Rhino. Production drawings for all curved insulated glazing units and sheet metal parts were exported directly from Rhino.
