Evolute Workshop in Chicago | October 12

PARAMETRICALLY DRIVEN OPTIMIZATION FOR FREEFORM FACADES

Our workshop will focus on optimization of complex geometry envelopes for efficient and cost effective fabrication. We will cover all steps from design to optimization to detailing to generating fabrication information, and how to parametrically link these steps to become an integrated workflow. Throughout the whole workshop EvoluteTools PRO 2.0 for Rhino will be used by the attendees for hands-on examples and exercises. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own designs to be rationalized. Experience in using Rhino, knowledge of RhinoScript is advantageous. Seats are still available, register today !

During the workshop we will also have a look at how this workflow brought the KREOD pavilion to reality.

EvoluteTools PRO is an advanced Rhino Plugin providing access to powerful paneling and geometry optimization tools with a user friendly interface. Participants will receive a 30 day evaluation license of EvoluteTools PRO to further explore its capabilities. Participants will also have a chance to preview new optimization tools and paneling technology.

The Workshop is part of the two day Chicago FACADES+INNOVATION Conference. This two-day event at the IIT campus in Chicago taps into the latest developments in high-performance building enclosures, from systems and materials to designs and delivery strategies. Day 1 Symposium brings together the most diverse thought-leaders in the industry, the profession, and the academy. You’ll walk away with new information, new insights, and new contacts. The keynote presentations, panel discussions, and Day 2 Digital Fabrication Workshops give you one-on-one access to the foremost practitioners in the design and delivery of the 21st century building skin.
